Peter Allen Inn & Event Center

I was here for a wedding and did not have the opportunity to go inside the restaurant/lodging area. The wedding was outside. We adjourned to a patio and small indoor bar area, where refreshments and beverages were provided, while pictures were being taken. Following that we proceeded to the reception which was in a tent. The tent was beautifully decorated and heated with patio heaters. The food was very good and the staff did a wonderful job. I hope to be back another time when I can explore the restaurant and grounds.

Barb and I traveled from the Wheeling WV area to Peter Allen Inn for dinner after hearing about it on PTL. Upon arrival we were greeted by Christen who escorted us to our table. Our table was in a room which is decorated with time appropriate furnishings, fireplace, woodwork and a good view. Their wine list is extensive and very good. Our meal was extremely tasty, good presentation and in proper portions. Christen, our greeter and waitress, was extremely attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable. Great smile. Katie the Inn's manager/hostess even stopped by our table and welcomed us. I assure you, we will be returning. It was well worth the trip. Joe

Love the food, love the location. If I just drive by and show up, all is great. However, I tried to make reservations for both Thanksgiving dinner and the wine tastings. No one answers the phone and even though you are asked to leave a message and told "someone will return your call within 24 to 48 hours", it never happens. This wasn't just a fluke as I called several times and always got the same non-response. Not sure what the problem is but there certainly is one.

Heard about there yearly clam bake(ALL YOU CAN EAT CLAMS) and had to check it out. For $89 it was all you could eat clams, the bake also came with the best clam chowder I've ever had,whole lobster 🦞, half chicken, corn, coleslaw, potatoes, corn bread and this delicious pumpkin dessert. Everything was outstanding, food was seriously top notch and all tasted wonderful!!!! For a additional $25 you could purchase a wrist band that allows you to get a open bar, for the cost of the wrist band it pays for itself if you consume more that 2 drinks. They had a live band playing, inside of a giant waterproof tent, complete with chandeliers and heaters. The property itself is beautiful. Walking paths, gardens and very nice landscaping.!! They also have rooms available which I will definitely be checking out next year. I highly recommend checking this out, however depending on where you are coming from it could be decent drive. Took about 45min from chardon area but again totally worth it.

I usually try a place more than once before I review. I had eggs Benedict each time. I was shocked when the second time it was just as bad as the first. My wife ordered strata and it was not at all savory. It was a large dry loaf of bread. The bloody Mary’s were totally unremarkable. If you are looking for a treat, this is not it. At least for breakfast. Pricey and bad.
